The world knows him as “Santa”. Call any kid in any English-speaking country in the World, and mention “Santa” and no one asked you for a last name. We dedicate a page to The History of Santa Claus, but historically in a nutshell Santa Claus Santa Claus was formerly known as Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle, but now simply "Santa", is the how the World affectionately refers to him. The mythical and legendary figure who, in Western cultures, magically delivers gifts to the homes of children on his “Good List”while they are snuggled in their beds with visions of sugarplums dancing through their heads on Christmas Eve. Today some people refer to Santa Claus and Christmas as being a “secular” holiday. This being the definition of “secular”: “denoting attitudes, activities, or other things that have no religious or spiritual basis” misses the mark and certainly the essence of what “Santa” is all about, which is all about “spirit” and meaningless without any association between that magical part of the legend of Santa Claus. We at Santa.net take our responsibility seriously, having in our possession the very top Santa domain name in the world. An infamous one-name icon with a one-name top level domain name: Santa-dot-NET. And “net” is the only suffix befitting the legendary name “Santa” which is synonymous with the spirit of non-commercial, family fun, generosity, compassion, selflessness, and certainly not an “e-COMmerce website or dot-com shopping mall or seller of Christmas related goods, Christmas Gifts or other Christmas Goodies with a price tag. Since 1996 people came to Santa.net and enjoyed our Christmas related entertainment for free. And even today, there is nothing to buy from Santa.net. And yes there is much dispute about whether Santa is Real or Fake. But is Pinocchio real or fake. The lesson taught is real, valuable and bigger than life, than the “person” who delivers the lesson so effectively is indisputably alive and well.
To preserve this spirit of Santa, we have spent a great deal of time identifying and learning about the true meaning of Santa and Christmas as it actually applies to our society today. This has helped us arrive at our Mission Statement for Santa.net, which goes way beyond developing a website and becomes a code for living: The spirit of giving and helping others. Santa brings valuable gifts to people, young and old, more so today than ever before. And, the most valuable of these gifts, delivered free, don’t come in paper wrappers. You can’t buy these gifts on Ebay or Amazon. And they certainly so fit into the category of “secular” since the magic of Santa Claus and Christmas is all about “spiritual”. But Santa, the guy who is the boss here at Santa.net, wouldn’t tolerate excluding anyone from the gifts he brings to the world. So come here to celebrate Santa whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, New Year's, Ramadan, Winter Hospice, or privately in the spirit in you, Santa welcomes you. We think of Santa as the ideal host for the celebration of the “Spirit of Giving” which is a common element and focal point all of the varied winter holiday celebrations of the myriad of religions that have developed around the world. We believe there are people who never set foot in a church, synagogue, mosque, or temple who are some of the most spiritual beings wh’ve ever roamed the planet. But for those who deny the existence of the “soul” or “spirit” , Santa has nothing to offer except some advice: “Learn what’s important in life, before it’s too late!” We have a special host to help you celebrate the joy of life, to all Santa’s friends.
